The Town Assessors are hired by the Selectboard when there is a lack of quorum and will perform all duties of the Board of Listers. The Town Assessors perform the day-to-day responsibilities of the Assessor’s Office, and consult with the Board of Listers when there is a quorum. The Town Assessors also work with Matt Reed and Beth Carrier as the Assistants to the Town Assessors.

2016-2018 Reappraisal Summary: Upon the recommendation of the Board of Listers, the $124,800 reappraisal contract was awarded by the Selectboard on April 14, 2016 and the project was completed for the April 1, 2019 Grandlist. A complete reappraisal is a re-assessment of all town properties including;

  • interior property inspections
  • development of new land and building pricing schedules
  • adjustments and factors.

The goal is to implement new values for all properties that reflect 100% of fair market value. The last town reappraisal was completed in 2006. More information on the reappraisal process is available by contacting a town lister or visiting the state tax department website:
